Meet the Doctor

Dr. Sammarone is a Fellowship Trained,Triple Board Certified Pain Physician dedicated to providing compassionate, high quality and personalized care to patients suffering with pain. He has over 29 years of experience, including 13 years at Saint Barnabas Hospital in Livingston, NJ practicing as a Pain Management Consultant, Anesthesiologist, and teaching attending for the Residency Program.

In Italy, his native country, he graduated "Summa cum Laude" from Medical School (top 3% of the class of 750 students). He then came to the U.S. after serving for the Italian Army and completed 2 Residencies: Internal Medicine and Anesthesiology and then was chosen and completed a Fellowship in Pain Management in New York.

 His extensive experience and knowledge, combined with the use of cutting edge techniques and equipment, allows him to obtain the best possible results. He performs a full range of minimally invasive procedures, including epidural steroid injections, radiofrequency ablation, endoscopic laser facet denervation, percutaneous disc decompression, sympathetic blocks, PRP (Platelets Rich Plasma) injections, spinal stimulator, pain pumps, discograms, vertebroplasty, trigger point injections and joint injections.

Dr. Sammarone was voted by his peers "NJ Top Doctor" as featured in the November 2012 issue of the "New Jersey Monthly Magazine" as well as in 2010 and 2009.

He also was the recipient of the “I Love My Doctor” award, as voted by his patients at Saint
Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, NJ. He states: “My goal is to eliminate or decrease pain, and restore function”. “It is a privilege to have a profession in which I have the means to create a better quality of life for my patients.”
