Causes
The causes of cancer related pain can vary between patients. Below are some common sources of cancer related pain:
A Tumor: Tumors may be pressing on nerves or expanding the inside of a hallow organ.
Bone Marrow Infiltration: This usually causes severe bone pain.
Testing and Treatments: Biopsies and/or surgery may be the source of pain. Cancer treatments such as chemotherapy and radiation therapy may cause pain. These cancer treatments may cause peripheral neuropathy, burning, and/or weakness. Both of these treatments may also lead to mouth sores, making it difficult to eat and/or drink.
